Despite the holiday season and everyone recharging their batteries in warm countries, we continued making solid progress with Sylius. What’s more, we welcomed our newest Professional Solution Partner, celebrated two platform migrations, and revealed a surprise for the upcoming SyliusCon 2025 in Lyon.
The community spirit shines bright with exciting meetups on the horizon, fresh plugin releases expanding our ecosystem, and vibrant social media discussions showcasing the passion our developers bring to the platform across Europe.
Here’s a breakdown of July’s highlights:
In July, we made big strides toward a safer, smoother Admin upgrade path with the new routing system and a switchable compatibility layer, so teams can adopt it at their own pace while legacy and new routes work side by side (tracking issue). Day-to-day use got easier too: cleaner admin forms, clearer variant lists in the storefront, better bulk-action placement, a fixed cancel-button fallback, contextual product cards, and a locale switch that now redirects correctly (#18210, #18218, #18219, #18220, #18222, #18238, #18186).
Under the hood we improved developer velocity and stability: faster green builds with PHPSpec restored on 2.0, safer query extensions in repositories, more reliable fixture generation, clearer CLI feedback for admin-user creation, AWS S3 image-storage docs, and temporary Composer guards around Symfony UX updates (#18198, #18199, #18201, #18202, #18209, #18274). We also tightened Payment Request handling to respect existing payloads during edits (#18237).
PayPalPlugin flows were hardened to prevent cancellations or duplicate checkouts after return (#377), MolliePlugin gained the PayByBank method (#250), and confirmed compatibility with Sylius 2.1 and Symfony 7.3 (#251). InvoicingPlugin (#379) and RefundPlugin (#475) were moved to using TestApplication, so plugin projects share one predictable local setup and CI shape. In the PluginSkeleton, we’ve made plugin development smoother with automatic vendor/plugin entrypoint discovery in Webpack, Sylius events to inject styles and scripts, safer env naming and backward compatibility, easier bundle overrides, conditional Behat boot, a vendor alias and package.json merge helpers, plus minor docs and path tweaks.

Now, let’s highlight the new July projects that leveraged Sylius to create unique eCommerce websites.
First of all, we have a French delivery app, Simply Good Food, that partnered with Esokia to escape the limitations of their JungleWorks SaaS platform and build something truly their own. The new store now includes a high-performance website for online ordering, a robust Symfony/Sylius back-office, and a React Native mobile app with Next.js frontend.
In this case, Sylius handles complex multi-restaurant business logic while Next.js delivers high performance and React Native ensures smooth mobile experiences across platforms. The Agile approach with sprint-based demos allowed rapid adjustments based on client feedback.
The results delivered improved UI/UX, multi-platform reach, leading to increased traffic, and significant gains in eCommerce management capabilities. Simply Good Food is now free to evolve its platform without SaaS restrictions.
The Eurovanille has launched its completely redesigned B2B platform, marking a major step in its digital transformation. Since 1990, this Hauts-de-France company has established itself as a French and global reference in vanilla, controlling the entire value chain from pod selection to premium ingredient transformation.
Their old website could no longer keep up with international growth and the complex needs of B2B customers. The new Sylius-powered platform changes everything with multilingual support for global markets, real-time ERP integration that handles all the data-heavy lifting, and a user experience that actually makes sense whether you’re a pastry chef ordering small batches or a manufacturer placing bulk orders.
What really stands out is how smoothly the platform presents Eurovanille’s incredible range – Madagascar vanilla pods, Polynesian extracts, aromatic powders, and those signature vanilla pearls – while making it simple for completely different customer types to find exactly what they need.
The result? A platform that finally matches the quality of their vanilla and sets them up perfectly for their next phase of international expansion.
SyliusCon 2025 is back in Lyon on October 17th at Centre Congrès de Lyon, and this year’s complete speaker lineup is absolutely fantastic.

Although SyliusCon is in the spotlight here, let’s not forget about other amazing events!
We’re teaming up with BitBag to bring you an evening of genuine knowledge and good vibes in Opole, Poland.
This isn’t a typical tech presentation. We’re doing a panel discussion featuring CEO Mikołaj Król, CTO, COO, and senior developers sharing the real inside story of one of PHP’s most exciting open-source projects. Think behind-the-scenes decisions, technical challenges, and honest conversations about where we’re heading next.
When and where? August 21st (Thursday), 18:00-22:00 at Spot Opole, ul. Częstochowska 4. We’ll have pizza, cold beer, and plenty of time for networking in a relaxed atmosphere.
With everything happening in the Sylius world lately, such as React-based FrontWing, Store Creator, the new test application, documentation overhauls, API improvements, and MCP support, there’s genuinely exciting stuff to discuss. This is your chance to hear directly from the people making these decisions and shaping the platform’s future.
Free entry, limited spots – just visit the event’s website to secure your place! 🍕🍺
It’s the PHP Forum 2025 anniversary edition! This October 9-10 at Disneyland Paris, the event celebrates the 30th anniversary of PHP, 25th anniversary of AFUP, 20th anniversary of Symfony, and the 10th anniversary of API Platform.
Sylius will be represented with a dedicated 40-minute talk by Maxime Huran showing how to develop modern eCommerce projects with Sylius 2. The program covers essential topics including generative AI, PHP 8.5, Symfony 8, and Sylius 2 developments.
But here’s what makes this Forum PHP special. Each day ends with fascinating “alien” conferences that take you completely away from programming. This year features Louis Vareille (the meeting doctor who’ll convince you meetings can actually change the world) and Thibaut Soulcié (editorial cartoonist revealing the not-always-funny behind-the-scenes of his craft).
This promises to be a unique moment of exchange, learning, and celebration for the entire PHP community. Plus, celebrating at Disneyland Paris just adds that extra touch of magic to the whole experience!
Check out the full program and grab your tickets at the event’s website.
