After our partnerships with PayPal, Mollie, and PayPlug that you already know of, it’s time for another well-known financial technology services provider – Adyen. Those who have been working with Sylius for a while now know that we’ve had an Adyen integration in our store for some time already. Thanks to our Leading Solution Partner BitBag we present you with its new and improved version.
There is more good news. You have probably already heard that this year we’ve been preparing for you the first ever SyliusCon. We would love to invite you with Adyen to visit both of us there. We are proud that the quality of the first edition of our conference will be confirmed by the name of one of the global leaders in the payment services industry.
Adyen was founded in 2006 in Amsterdam, and its history is similar to the other rapidly developing technologies. The founders wanted to create a platform that provides end-to-end payments capabilities, data-driven insights, and financial products in a single global solution.
Within 16 years of existence, Adyen has become the payment provider of worldwide giants like Spotify, Uber, eBay, and McDonald’s. It’s safe to say your payments go through Adyen software every day – not only through e-commerce but also point-of-sale (PoS).
The company is listed on the Euronext stock exchange, generates over €1B in revenue, and hires 2000+ employees in 26 offices all over the world, incl. Sylius’ homeland capital – Warsaw, makes it very convenient to pursue the partnership.
Now let me explain why that partnership makes so much sense.
First of all, we have shared mutual clients for years. These are not just other companies, they are leaders in various industries. The online revenue of our 5 biggest joint customers – 4Care, Recharge, mytheresa, Emesa, and Groupe Rosa – surpasses 1 bln EUR.
So the evidence has already been there. The only thing left was to start growing upon it.
Secondly, we know that Sylius (and Sylius Plus) works best in the mid-to upper-level-market companies that are thriving in the best-of-breed environment. In that case, Adyen is the perfect fit as an all-in-one payment solution supporting international sales. Even more importantly, due to its experience, Adyen already provides integrations with payment methods popular in regions hardly available for other PSPs like China, Africa, or Oceania. The same goes for the payouts in local currencies.
From the very first contact with Adyen’s representatives, we’ve felt not only the connection on the product level but also – simply as humans. The latter is extremely rare in companies of this size but often turns out to be more important in successful, long-term partnerships.
Adyen and Sylius are simply a great match – both are omnichannel and international by default – supporting all countries, tax zones, currencies, and providing tools for global expansion.
– Tymoteusz Stengert, Partner & Business Lead at Sylius
Adyen allows you to unify your online, mobile, and offline business across multiple platforms, countries, and/or channels. You can have all your payments, data, and revenue in one place. Adyen has direct connections not only to internationally used cards and wallets but also provides access to local payments. That’s extremely important when you want your eCommerce business to operate in different countries, as payment providers and habits are not the same in each region.
To learn more about the possibilities of the integration and its tech side before the conference, read this BitBag’s article, sharing all the insights of the plugin from the creator’s perspective.
In order not to let you miss this partnership thriving, both parties have decided to work even closer together. Adyen becomes the Naming Sponsor of the first ever conference fully dedicated to Sylius, happening on October 27 in our hometown, Łódź, Poland.
Working with Sylius has been a blast and our partnership will allow merchants to offer a seamless, omnichannel experience to drive conversion and accelerate growth to help them stand out in a highly competitive sector.
We’re very excited to team up and come together at SyliusCon to meet the thriving community around Sylius. Showing how both our technology and innovation meet the needs of today’s evolving e-commerce landscape.
– Sascha Schwägele, Commercial and Strategic Partnerships at Adyen
Among already confirmed speakers, there are tech leaders of stores operating internationally using both Sylius and Adyen. Needless to say, this event will be an unprecedented chance to ask the right questions and get honest answers from people behind live-production implementations.
