Sylius Plus Module Overview: Requests for Quotation (RFQ)

The way B2B commerce works is fundamentally different from B2C. Bulk orders, custom pricing, negotiations, they all demand more flexibility than the standard “Add to Cart” journey. That’s why we introduced a new module in Sylius Plus: Requests for Quotation (RFQ).

Whether you’re a wholesaler, manufacturer, or distributor with complex offerings, the RFQ feature provides a dedicated space for negotiating terms, allowing your customers to initiate a conversation about their specific needs directly from your Sylius-powered shop.

The workflow in B2B commerce

In B2B stores, not every purchase follows a standard path. High-volume orders, custom configurations, and negotiated pricing are common. That’s where the Requests for Quotation (RFQ) feature in Sylius Plus steps in.

Here’s how it works in practice:

  • From the customer side: Buyers add products to their cart and define the quantities they’re interested in. Instead of proceeding to checkout, they click a new “Request for Quotation” button. This redirects them to a dedicated form where they can provide contact details and outline their expectations or special requirements.
  • From the merchant side: Each RFQ is instantly available in the admin panel, showing selected products, requested quantities, and the customer’s message. Your team can then evaluate the request, create a personalized offer, complete with pricing, notes, or attachments, and send it back for review.
  • Next steps: The customer receives the offer and can either accept it, converting it directly into an order at the proposed price, or respond with further comments to continue the negotiation. Merchants can revise and resend offers as needed, keeping the process efficient and structured.

This feature enables you to handle complex sales scenarios with professionalism and speed, without ever leaving the Sylius environment. It’s a streamlined, transparent negotiation tool built for modern B2B expectations.

Let’s see what it looks like:

The benefits of the RFQ module

RFQ addresses a core challenge in B2B commerce: how to replicate the nuance of human negotiation in a digital setting. With this feature, the store becomes a dynamic sales channel tailored to enterprise needs.

Key benefits include:

  • Accelerated deal flow: Structured communication and streamlined workflows reduce turnaround time on complex orders.
  • Improved customer experience: Buyers feel heard and understood when they can ask for tailored offers.
  • Higher conversion rates: Personalized pricing and direct engagement lead to stronger relationships and better outcomes.
  • Full integration with the B2B Suite: RFQ fits perfectly into Sylius Plus’ B2B module, including company accounts, shared carts, and much more.
