Month of Sylius: February 🌹

Love (and growth) is in the air! February centered on infrastructure work and ecosystem growth. We are making final touches to Sylius Addons Marketplace, released the Subscriptions module in Sylius Plus, and saw two new B2B platforms go live. A new partner joined from Latvia, we shared some more SyliusCon presentations, and represented Sylius at events across the UK and Spain.

Let’s dive into February! 🦢

Overall product updates

February focused on infrastructure and getting the ecosystem aligned. The team pushed hard on Symfony 8 readiness and routing modernization. In total, 199 PRs were merged, with 174 coming from actual contributors (not bots) – showing both internal progress and solid community involvement.

Sylius/Sylius

Core saw intensive work around the new routing system and Symfony 8 compatibility. The new routing initiative expanded significantly, covering shop flows like checkout, account management, password reset, and product pages (e.g. #18791, #18852, #18869). This continues to modernize route definitions and prepares the platform for more flexibility and extensibility.

We also made substantial progress toward Symfony 8 support. Updates included allowing doctrine/doctrine-bundle ^3.1 (#18754), bumping key dependencies such as symfony/monolog-bundle (#18797) and symfonycasts/dynamic-forms (#18796), and enabling Symfony 8 in selected components like Channel (#18799). Together, these changes future-proof the core and reduce friction for upcoming upgrades.

The testing infrastructure was heavily modernized. A full migration of Behat configurations from XML/YAML to PHP (e.g., #18854, #18866) simplifies maintenance and aligns with Symfony 8 requirements. CI workflows were unified around BuildTestAppAction v4 (#18825), improving consistency and stability across pipelines.

On the UX side, we fixed admin image handling with newer Webpack versions (#18832) and refined delivery time formatting (#18779), ensuring a smoother day-to-day experience for merchants and developers alike.

Sylius/SyliusResourceBundle

ResourceBundle received a strong functional boost. We introduced route priorities at the metadata level (#1147) and resource-level route requirements (#1148), making routing behavior more predictable and configurable.

Improvements to flash message translations (#1146) and fallback translations for custom operations (#1140) enhance internationalization and polish. Additionally, fixes like nested repository argument parsing (#1149) increase reliability in advanced resource configurations.

Sylius/Stack

Stack documentation and developer experience were significantly improved. We added a Twig hooks debug command (#326), introduced a default EnumFilter Twig template for grids (#331), and refined Bootstrap Admin UI templates after upstream changes (#346).

A comprehensive documentation cleanup and restructuring (e.g., #333, #338, #340) makes it easier for developers to adopt and correctly configure Sylius Stack components.

Symfony 8 Readiness Across the Ecosystem

Multiple bundles, including Fixtures (#117), Mailer (#276), and Theme (#142) – added Symfony 8 support. XML-to-PHP service migrations (e.g., Fixtures #116) and modernized type declarations (Mailer #277) ensure long-term maintainability and cleaner internals.

Altogether, February laid critical foundations: modern routing, upgraded testing infrastructure, and broad Symfony 8 compatibility. The ecosystem is becoming leaner, more consistent, and ready for its next major chapter.

Sylius Addons Marketplace coming soon!

The old Sylius Store served its purpose, but the ecosystem outgrew it. With more plugins, Sylius Plus modules, courses, and partners joining, resources were scattered across GitHub, documentation, and various platforms. Many valuable extensions became hard to discover.

Sylius Addons Marketplace centralizes everything in one structured hub: community plugins, Sylius Plus modules, online courses, and certification. Built on the Marketplace Suite (which shows what Sylius Plus can do), the platform introduces vendor ownership: plugin creators manage their own listings directly, including descriptions, documentation, and compatibility information.

The new system includes reviews and ratings, creating accountability for quality and ongoing maintenance. For developers and agencies, it’s a clearer way to showcase solutions. For merchants, it’s easier to find what they need and contact vendors directly for support or collaboration.

The official launch livestream will take place on March 23 with Przemysław Połeć and Magdalena Sadowska walking through the platform. Read the full story in our blog post.

New Sylius Plus module: Subscriptions 🎊

Another module joins the Sylius Plus family. It’s been on the roadmap for years, but other priorities kept pushing it back. Better late than never.

The Subscriptions module adds recurring sales capabilities without disrupting the standard Sylius purchase flow. Subscriptions are defined at the product and variant level, so merchants can mix one-time purchases and recurring items in a single cart and checkout. Once created from orders, subscriptions evolve independently with their own lifecycle and renewal logic – enabling long-term customer relationships built on renewable orders.

This is foundational subscription functionality responding to community feedback about needing recurring models that work within the existing Sylius architecture.

Project victories 🎉

A few words about the newest Sylius-based projects. ⬇️

M-extend creates a centralized B2B customer platform to digitalize orders

Firstly, Adeliom agency built a B2B platform for M-extend, the French leader in front loaders for tractors. Many B2B companies invest heavily in lead acquisition but leave their customer portals stuck in 2012, with catalogs disguised as websites, scattered information, and unclear order tracking.

The challenge was transforming the customer space into a commercial tool and relationship centre. The Sylius/Symfony platform (with Flutter frontend for mobile experience) provides personalized access to catalogs and conditions, centralized order history and documentation, integrated warranty and parts return workflows, dealer locator with CRM synchronization, and increased autonomy for both customers and internal teams – reducing friction in daily commercial interactions.

The architecture sits on Sylius and Symfony, connected to existing ERP, PIM, and CRM systems through APIs, supporting 7 languages and ready to evolve with B2B needs. In B2B, the most successful platforms aren’t the ones that just take orders – they’re the ones that strengthen relationships. And that’s often where sales performance is really decided.

Innelec launches redesigned B2B platform

Innelec went live with a completely redesigned B2B eCommerce platform built by our Professional Solution Partner, Cyllene. The project focused on meeting today’s professional customer expectations with a simplified purchasing process for independent ordering, a centralized customer hub managing all activity, and a more intuitive interface with detailed product information.

The launch marks a first step – a solid foundation designed to evolve based on real-world usage and customer feedback. The goal was clear from the start: simplify the daily work of professional customers.

New partner! 🤝

ZenIS joined as a Professional Solution Partner from Latvia 🇱🇻. The digital consulting company specializes in helping organizations modernize operations and build scalable digital platforms tailored to real business needs – from mid-sized companies scaling beyond local markets to enterprises managing operational complexity.

Their work spans custom software development, eCommerce solutions, system integrations, process automation, and AI-driven decision support. ZenIS has delivered projects for clients including Decathlon Latvia and European government institutions, supporting both private and public sectors. As an independent IT partner, they focus on designing the right solution for each client’s stage, scale, and strategy rather than pushing a single platform – which makes Sylius a natural fit for companies requiring highly customizable, scalable architectures.

Welcome to the partner network! 🤝

Sylius on Tpay Podcast: B2B platforms and staying ahead 🇵🇱

Przemysław Połeć joined Klaudia Krajewska on Tpay Podcast to discuss how B2B e-commerce platforms need to evolve and why platform development is never really “finished.” The B2B market isn’t slowing down, and choosing the right technology has become a key strategic decision for the years ahead.

The conversation covered practical questions businesses face when scaling their sales operations, such as how to move from simple stores to advanced systems without rebuilding from scratch, using AI for real automation beyond marketing hype, what to focus on today to stay ahead two years from now, and much more!

Sounds interesting? Listen to Przemek and Klaudia in the full episode. 🎧

New month, new SyliusCon presentations available

Every Sylius store already knows its customers – the real question is whether you’re actually listening. Mike Korba, CCO & Co-Founder at User.com by Positive, showed how everyday Sylius events can become the starting point for meaningful customer conversations in “Know Your Customer: Building Smarter Journeys with Sylius Data.”

Rather than collecting data that sits in dashboards nobody checks, Mike walked through real scenarios: a first purchase that triggers the right follow-up, a returning customer who gets a perfectly timed message, and data flowing in real-time from Sylius into CRM and marketing automation tools without custom tracking or fragile integrations. It’s about using the right signals at the right moment to genuinely change the customer experience.

For those interested in applying this approach, there’s an official integration between Sylius and User.com available here. Watch the full session on YouTube. 🎥
