Month of Sylius: August ⛺

August settled into something calmer than the months before it, but no less productive: the 2.2 cycle wrapped up, Payment Request graduated to fully stable, and the AI tooling stack moved onto its new native-CLI foundation, all while the ecosystem kept new projects coming, from an AI-powered curtain shop to a made-to-measure sauna configurator. Outside the codebase, PS Summit locked in its format and first sponsors, and our Stripe partnership got its full migration guide.

Here’s what’s inside this edition:

Overall Product Updates

August was a quieter, consolidation-focused month with 62 pull requests merged (52 excluding automated bot PRs), but it carried one milestone worth calling out: Sylius core moved its development version to 2.3.0-dev (#19167), marking 2.2 as done and shifting active development to the next release.

Sylius/Sylius

The Payment Request feature, introduced as experimental over the past months, is now fully stable with its remaining experimental tags removed (#19166). Admin users gained a new payment methods promotion banner, complete with dark theme styling, alongside a hook for suggested payment methods and a refreshed payment methods page UI (#19184, #19186, #19188, #19191), plus a Stripe logo added to the shop footer (#19170).

On the cart and checkout side, a double-counted unit-level promotion in the cart summary discount was fixed (#19136), a cart offcanvas no longer loses its Bootstrap state on a live re-render (#19187), and the add-to-cart logic was extracted into a reusable CartItemAdder service with a widened return type, making it easier to build custom add-to-cart flows without a full page reload (#19138, #19139). Admin users can now be granted panel access, API access, or both independently via new access-level checkboxes (#19134), and guest customers are now findable by name or email in the order grid’s customer autocomplete filter (#18982). A long-standing promotion rule request landed too: cart quantity and item total rules now support comparison operators beyond the default >= (#12299).

Housekeeping included dropping the Dependabot configuration and auto-merge workflow in favor of intentionally broad version constraints (#19174), a fix for a Doctrine ORM 3.6.8 conflict breaking schema generation (#19175), MySQL 9 compatibility for the Doctrine Purger (#19158), and a round of dark mode follow-up fixes addressing validation borders, ghost buttons, and disabled row actions (#19163).

Sylius/FrontWing

The headless storefront kit gained One Page Checkout, consolidating the checkout flow into a single page, along with a translations pass (#45, #51).

AI tooling ecosystem: sylius-ai-dev-tools & sylius-mate-extension

The Sylius AI tooling stack went through a significant migration this month, moving from an MCP-server-based setup to Symfony AI Mate 0.13’s native CLI, which coding agents now invoke directly instead of through an MCP server (#10, #4). Plugin and decorator detection is now fully dynamic instead of relying on a hardcoded registry, the sylius-dev skill is now distributed natively via Mate rather than through a separate Claude Code marketplace, and its examples were genericized to reduce over-reliance on a single worked example (#5, #6, #8).

Sylius/MolliePlugin, Sylius/StripePlugin & Sylius/AdyenPlugin

The Mollie Plugin fixed a bug where its surcharge processor read gateway configuration before confirming the gateway actually belonged to Mollie, which could throw on stores using other payment methods (#367). The Stripe Plugin dropped support for the now-unsupported Sylius ~2.1.0, migrated its Behat service definitions from XML to PHP, and updated its notifications template to match recent Sylius changes (#129, #126, #128). The Adyen Plugin removed a duplicated payment transition and added a guard against re-applying existing transitions (#190).

Sylius/CmsPlugin & Sylius/WishlistPlugin

The CMS Plugin’s content-element ordering work continued with the ability to insert new content elements between existing ones, rather than only at the end (#165). The Wishlist Plugin closed out last month’s empty-wishlist fix with a follow-up that removes the one remaining code path still creating empty wishlists on page load (#89).

Other ecosystem updates

Sylius-Standard fixed Twig hook conflicts between payment plugins and bumped the Stripe and Adyen plugins to their latest patch versions (#1319, #1320). The AdminMcpServerPlugin got a small compatibility fix for its OAuth authorization voter on Symfony 7.2+ (#37), and ProductBundlePlugin cleaned up an unused Dompdf dependency and fixed a broken build (#24, #26).

Together, August’s work put a bow on the 2.2 cycle, stabilized Payment Request, refreshed the payment methods experience in admin, and moved the AI tooling stack onto its new native-CLI foundation.

PS Summit

PS Summit 2026 now has its full event format locked in, running across two days at the Centre de Congrès de Lyon: November 4 is a technical Workshop & Hackathon day for experienced PrestaShop and Sylius developers to get hands-on with the other framework, build real features, and hack together, while November 5 opens up to the whole ecosystem with conference talks, an expo floor, and networking for agencies, eCommerce experts, and developers.

Sponsors are already confirmed, including PayPal and Sendcloud (Platinum), Profileo (Gold), and our own Professional Solution Partner ACSEO alongside Atoo Next, Centric Software, Connectif, MaPS System, and Positive (Silver), plus Weeby (Bronze). If your company wants to join us at the event, sponsorship spots are still open.

A first sneak peek at the speaker lineup is coming next week, so keep an eye on our social media for that. 👀

Tickets are free, but grab yours now. Once the full agenda drops, they’ll go a lot faster.

Release of the Stripe payment migration guide

Following our announcement in July, we published a full breakdown of what the Stripe partnership actually means for our merchants and developers. Through our official Stripe Plugin, projects get global card processing, digital wallets like Apple Pay and Google Pay, and local payment methods across key markets, including BLIK and Przelewy24 in Poland, iDEAL in the Netherlands, and Bancontact in Belgium, alongside multi-currency support and fraud prevention. The plugin supports two gateway types: Stripe Checkout for a Stripe-hosted page, or Stripe Web Elements for an embedded on-site experience, so you can pick whatever fits your architecture best.

It’s also worth remembering that we reinvest 100% of the revenue generated through PSP affiliate and revenue-share partnerships straight back into developing Sylius Community Edition, so choosing our official integration also helps fund the platform’s long-term development.

If you’re already running Stripe through an earlier community package or a custom setup, now’s a good time to move over. The transition is straightforward; existing Composer package names stay the same, and our guide also covers switching to Stripe Restricted API Keys for tighter permission scoping.

Project victories

Three fresh go-lives this month, spanning everything from AI-powered shopping to a made-to-measure product configurator. ⬇️

Bringing AI to curtain shopping, powered by Antadis

Antadis worked with Heytens, the French home-decor and curtains brand, on a full relaunch of its eCommerce website on Sylius and Prismic, complete with a new visual identity, a fully accessible product catalog, and a standout feature: an AI advisor that helps customers kick off their project from home, identifying their needs, suggesting fitting solutions, and even letting them visualize curtains or blinds directly on a photo of their own window. The team behind it made it clear that the goal isn’t to replace in-store advice, but to make it accessible earlier and more concretely, so customers can start on their own time and then continue with in-person guidance for a truly tailored result.

A made-to-measure sauna configurator, by Integritty

Integritty launched a new Sylius store for Anders & Kafka, a Czech wellness brand with over 16 years in sauna manufacturing (saunas, hot tubs, pools, accessories, and cosmetics). The B2C shop is built on FrontWing, Sylius’s React storefront, and its standout feature is a custom sauna configurator letting customers build their own sauna step by step, picking dimensions, materials, heater, and accessories, with the price updating live.

office-partner.de: the full story, coming soon

Full case study time. Back in July, we mentioned office-partner.de going live on Sylius without any caching layers, and now the details are public: Office Partner, a DACH office IT supplier running two storefronts (office-partner.de and playox.com) across 120,000 SKUs and over €250 million in annual revenue, migrated off Shopware in-house, with help from BatteryIncluded on the AI-powered search and recommendation layer. The result is a hybrid search architecture with P50 response times consistently under 50ms and P75 under 90ms, even at that scale, delivered by the in-house team in about six months.

Upcoming events

Let’s take a look at what’s ahead of us, because there’s a lot to see. 🔜

Sylius x PrestaShop Meetup, Warsaw 🇵🇱

First of all, the first-ever Sylius x PrestaShop Meetup in Poland takes place in Warsaw on September 10, bringing both open-source eCommerce communities together for a panel titled “PrestaShop or Sylius? Matching the platform to the business, not the business to the technology.” Rather than a tech showdown, expect a conversation about the choices that actually matter for a business: extensibility, B2B, migrating off SaaS, and expanding into new markets. The event will be held in Polish, but everyone from our international network is more than welcome to join. 💪

PHP Developer Day, Dresden 🇩🇪

Our great friend Stephan Hochdörfer is heading back to one of his favorite PHP conferences in Germany on September 25, this time to demo Sylius Stack live on stage. The challenge: build a working app in a single hour, live, no safety net. Certainly worth watching live!

Next, WEEBY, also our Professional Solution Partner, is hosting a webinar on September 24 at 11am, joined by Combustibles Gruchy (a heating-fuel delivery company) and Sylius, walking through a real migration from PrestaShop to Sylius. Expect a three-way conversation between the merchant, the agency, and the platform: Adrien Gruchy (Combustibles Gruchy), Hugues Leproux (CEO, WEEBY), and Marc Laszczynski (Sylius) will cover what pushed the move, the technical choices made along the way, and the results since going live, with room for live questions. Can’t make it live? A replay will be sent out afterward.

🎟️ Register for the webinar

API Platform Con, Lille 🇫🇷

We’ll be joining API Platform Con as attendees on September 17–18 in Lille, so if you’re around, come find our developers, say hi, and talk Sylius, API Platform, or your own commerce projects.

Wrapping up

That’s August in the books, a quieter month on the surface, but one that quietly set up a lot for what’s coming: a stable Payment Request feature, a growing PS Summit lineup, and a steady stream of new stores going live on Sylius. September’s shaping up to be a busy one with three community meetups back-to-back, so we’ll see you out there. 🦢♥️
