Summer slowdown? Not here. While half of Europe was off chasing sunshine, the Sylius ecosystem kept shipping, and July turned into one of the busiest months yet, headlined by a new official partnership with Stripe and a fresh MCP tool for admin panel. From new go-lives to amazing events, the momentum from our 3rd anniversary clearly hasn’t cooled off for the holidays.
Here’s what’s inside this edition:
July brought 143 pull requests merged (126 excluding automated bot PRs), with a brand-new AI-tooling plugin, a major push on Symfony 8 readiness, and a cluster of security hardening across payment integrations.
The biggest news of the month: a brand-new plugin exposing the Sylius Admin API as MCP tools, so AI assistants like Claude can manage products, orders, taxons, shipments, payments, and more directly from a chat interface. Over the course of July, it grew from a handful of Administrator and Product tools into a full toolset aligned with a 127-tool spec, complete with token-based and OAuth authentication, admin-configurable access levels, and Sylius telemetry support (#1, #2, #8, #14, #20, #29, #35). Extensive manual verification testing led to a wave of functional fixes and description improvements across the tool set, plus a fully rewritten README with a verified installation guide and setup instructions for Claude Desktop, Claude.ai, Claude Code, and Cursor (#24, #27, #28, #31).
Core platform work centered on Symfony 8 readiness this month, with support landing behind a dedicated branch, an updated CI matrix testing mainly Symfony 8.1 while keeping minimal 8.0 and PHP 8.3 coverage, and refreshed Composer and Behat dependency constraints (#19072, #19118, #19128, #19129, #19132, #19142).
On the feature side, the admin panel gained dark mode support, orders grids now show a guest-vs-customer indicator, and promotions can track (or skip tracking) coupon usage, with the setting configurable from both admin and the API (#18981, #18995, #18966). Store setup also got easier, with country and zone configuration now part of the installation process, and removed promotion rules and actions are now preserved so their configuration can be restored if re-added (#19098, #19101).
A number of order and payment edge cases were fixed: orders now correctly recover to “awaiting payment” after an authorized payment is cancelled, a coupon can no longer invalidate its own promotion’s eligibility, LiveComponents no longer interfere with modal behavior (surfaced by an issue adding a PayPal sandbox account), and the thank-you page now displays correctly for guest users (#19050, #19052, #19089, #19146). A MariaDB compatibility fix corrected date/time DQL functions used by the admin dashboard statistics (#19130), and the new PHP-based grid configuration work continued with withFields/withFilters helpers and a resourceClass option on the #[AsGrid] attribute (#19099, #19100, #19102).
The Invokable Grids work from previous months reached a turning point: legacy grids and grid events are now officially deprecated, with AbstractGrid usage removed from the grid maker and builder interfaces moved into the Grid component to keep the dependency direction clean (#491, #494, #495). Grid mutators now also work with legacy grids, easing the migration path, and a cold-build regression under DebugClassLoader was fixed (#488, #498).
Both major payment plugins received meaningful security hardening this month. The Mollie Plugin now validates incoming webhook payments against the order they claim to belong to, closing an IDOR that could leak order tokens and PII, and QR-code shop endpoints are now validated via session rather than trusting the order token directly, with QR payments completed from cart state instead (#351, #352, #354, #357, #358). The PayPal Plugin now authenticates refund webhooks with PayPal’s own signature verification on both its 1.7 and 2.0 branches (#666, #670). On the Sylius core side, payment data decryption was hardened with an allow-list of classes and a stricter mode (#19081), and a validator introduced earlier now restricts payment requests to placed orders only (#18930); the Payment Request feature itself is no longer marked experimental (#19083).
Sylius’ headless storefront kit took a big step forward, migrating from Remix v2 to React Router v7 in framework mode to stay on a maintained foundation, alongside version bumps for React, Vite, TypeScript, and ESLint, a fix for a queryClient incorrectly shared across SSR requests, and new discounts display in the cart and checkout (#46, #47, #48, #49, #50).
The CMS Plugin’s content-element ordering feature (introduced last month) received two follow-up bugfixes for element moving and stray empty entries left behind by live deletes (#197, #199). Looking ahead, Simon Krull gave us a preview of what’s coming next for the plugin: the ability to move content elements up and down while editing a page or block, plus support for inserting new elements between existing ones. A known bug on the “insert between” feature is still being worked through with the QA team, so the bigger announcement (and a proper demo) is coming once it’s fixed and the new version ships. The Wishlist Plugin stopped creating empty wishlist entries and cookie tokens on every guest page load, which had been overloading the database table over time, and gained PostgreSQL support (#84, #85).

Sylius-Standard added an official Adyen Plugin integration and stopped committing composer.lock/yarn.lock, so new projects start from current dependency versions instead of a frozen baseline (#1310, #1318). The new sylius-ai-dev-tools package and the sylius-mate-extension both received dependency bumps to stay current with the latest Symfony AI tooling (#1, #3), and SyliusRecipes renamed its product customization references to match the Product Configurator Plugin naming (#50).
Together, July’s work opened up a genuinely new way to operate Sylius stores through AI tooling, pushed the platform another step toward Symfony 8, and closed out real security gaps across two of the most widely used payment integrations.
We announced an official partnership with Stripe, now established as our Preferred Payment Partner. It’s another step in strengthening the payments ecosystem shared between Sylius and PrestaShop, where Stripe has long been a trusted, established player. With this partnership, Sylius merchants get access to that same high standard of integration.
It’s worth noting that this official plugin builds on real community groundwork: Francis Hilaire and other contributors laid the foundation for the Stripe Plugin well before this partnership came together, and their work made this next step possible.

Holiday season or not, the Sylius ecosystem kept shipping. Here’s what went live in July.
First off, after Cyllene‘s replatforming of Bayard’s Adulte titles back in June, the group’s Jeunesse division just had its turn: SQLI led the Sylius development for new eCommerce platforms across Bayard Jeunesse, Milan, and Réseaux Écoles. Our Professional Solution Partner Cyllene also stayed involved on this phase, handling the API Manager (Symfony), alongside Ideance on RGAA accessibility and iAdvize on a conversational shopping assistant. The team also used the project to experiment with agentic AI to support developers on specialized tasks. Another complex, multi-brand go-live for a transformation that’s clearly still gaining momentum. 💪
Aality built a Sylius-based B2B tool for JSD Création, a French professional textile printing specialist, letting the company’s client businesses open dedicated online stores for their employees to order the right sizes and models of their work gear directly. The platform runs on a fully custom admin interface, built to make it easy to spin up new client stores, upload product catalogs via XLS import, and export order forms in whatever format the team needs.
Atidgo and ACSEO teamed up to build Clara, a WhatsApp-based virtual assistant that lets restaurant owners place orders with a voice message or a photo of their stockroom, powered by Sylius as the commerce engine underneath. Clara translates the request, checks the catalog, suggests alternatives when something’s out of stock, and can even factor in current promotions or the weather. Since launch, Clara has handled several million orders over two years and helped push average basket size up 15%.

Lastly, our Professional Solution Partner DATASOLUTION created Payot Libraire, a Swiss bookstore chain operating since 1877, went live with a new headless platform combining Directus (CMS), Sylius (eCommerce), and Algolia (search), plus a custom MDM system to manage a catalog of over 10 million references. A quick shoutout from the community: OFFICE partner is now live on Sylius, running without any front-end caching layers or reverse proxies in front, with the team reporting flawless performance across the board.
Chris Yawman shared a victory lap of his own on our Slack channel: After months of work, Chris Yawman’s team migrated a busy WooCommerce site into 9 separate ecommerce storefronts, each with a Next.js/React frontend powered by a single Sylius API backend, for a client running over 200 brick-and-mortar stores across the US with more than 2.5 million product variants. Everything now runs containerized and scalable on Kubernetes, with console commands as cronjobs, message queue integrations, cache clusters, and OpenSearch, all with zero downtime since launch.

Bydgoszcz hosted the inaugural Stripe Builders Community meetup, kicking off what’s meant to be a regular gathering for people building startups, SaaS products, apps, games, and ecommerce businesses. The conversation covered what technology teams need most right now: getting more out of Stripe, applying AI in everyday work, product design, software architecture, and legal topics like the AI Act.
The room brought together a diverse mix of builders, including Damian Murawski, board member at Sylius and PrestaShop, who shared his experience with eCommerce and the Sylius framework. The next meetup is already scheduled for next month.
