Welcome to the summary of October! While the weather slowly turns colder, our passion for Sylius continues to heat up. This month has been marked by significant progress on Sylius 2.0, vibrant community events, and social media discussions. Let’s dive into the highlights of this action-packed month.
Let’s begin the October’s summary! 👻
October was a month of milestones in Sylius development as we rolled out updates across multiple versions and brought exciting new releases to our community. On the 2.0 front, we fine-tuned Twig hooks, reorganizing pages like product reviews, orders, and login flows for a more customizable experience. AdminBundle saw a refresh with new LiveComponents for simpler resources, and updates in Payment and Order handling made sure your gateway setup flows more seamlessly. We also tidied up the UI, polished notification handling. A major highlight was our successful upgrade from API Platform 3 to API Platform 4, a substantial achievement.
Meanwhile, the 1.x versions didn’t rest! October releases of v1.13.7 and v1.13.8 focused on keeping things consistent and reliable, with improvements like deprecations of outdated controllers and widgets, refined API constraints, and better promotion logic. For those following the roadmap for our next major release, v1.14.0-ALPHA.2 on October 15 moved us forward, with v1.14.0-BETA.1 on October 30, bringing it closer to full release.
Rounding out the month, our v2.0.0-BETA.1 release landed, showcasing our latest efforts toward a powerful and flexible 2.0. These releases reflect Sylius’ continued dedication to creating a stable, cutting-edge platform that evolves to meet developer and business needs alike.
Meet the outstanding developers who worked hard on Sylius in October! 🔧
After successfully launching the Alpha version, we recently released the Beta version of Sylius 2.0, bringing us closer to the official final and stable release. Beta 2.0 brings several key improvements, including integration with API Platform 4 for enhanced API capabilities, a new priority system for Twig hooks enabling better customization management, and visual enhancements through Symfony UX icons and UI refinements. The release also features an improved Payment Request system, introduced in Alpha.3, and extensive codebase optimizations for better stability and performance.
Big kudos to Loïc Fremont, who improved the DX of new Sylius templates, Łukasz Chruściel, who initiated API Platform 4 support, and Francis Hilaire, who worked on Payment Requests.
