Month of Sylius: January ❄️

We started 2026 with focused work across the ecosystem. As Sylius 1.14 LTS entered its final support phase, the team focused on platform stability and developer experience while the three new Sylius-based projects went live. Also, a new partner joined our ecosystem, we released additional valuable SyliusCon presentations on our YouTube channel, and we started work on the Sylius vs. PrestaShop comparison eBook.

Let’s dive into January! 🦢

Overall product updates

January was about maintenance and stability. The team spent time on CI improvements, framework compatibility updates, and developer experience refinements – the kind of work that matters most when you’re building production systems.

Sylius/Sylius

Core development this month focused on smoothing upgrades and improving day-to-day development workflows. CI pipelines were standardized and then extended to reduce flaky builds and support newer PHP and database setups, helping teams iterate with more confidence (#18693, #18740, #18729). Dependency constraints were relaxed where safe, unblocking modern stacks, such as allowing psr/http-message:^2.0 and removing outdated Twig conflicts (#18703, #18702). Several targeted bug fixes improved admin UX and local development, including more reliable autocomplete behavior and smarter channel resolution for localhost environments (#18572, #18726).

Sylius/CmsPlugin

In our tiny but mighty CMS, we’ve had a wave of quality improvements that directly benefit merchants and integrators. Validation was tightened to prevent invalid page configurations (#118), while admin usability was refined through fixes to dropdown behavior and more flexible menu routing options (#124, #128). On the maintenance side, CI was modernized and made more robust with updated database matrices and reusable upmerge workflows, reducing operational overhead for maintainers (#126, #130).

Sylius/PluginSkeleton

January delivered a major DX boost for plugin authors. The new interactive rename script significantly streamlines project setup, replacing a previously manual and error-prone process (#479). This tooling was further refined with automation flags, smarter defaults, and better Composer packaging, making both interactive and CI-driven workflows smoother (#482, #484, #489). Updated Symfony requirements ensure new plugins are future-proof out of the box (#487).

Sylius/ImportExportBundle

A critical serialization fix addressed API export failures that could break order workflows, improving reliability for data-heavy integrations (#20). Additional cleanup removed unused dependencies and clarified configuration naming, making the bundle easier to maintain and extend (#21, #23).

Sylius/Stack & supporting packages

The stack continued to move forward with Symfony 8 compatibility and frontend dependency upgrades, keeping the admin UI secure and modern (#317, #319). Documentation updates rounded out the work, helping teams adopt new features with less friction (#322, #325).

  • tomkalon refined admin UX with small but impactful form and CMS improvements that make day-to-day content and configuration work clearer for merchants (#18369).
  • camilleislasse kick-started one of the month’s biggest DX wins by introducing the initial plugin rename script, later expanded into a full onboarding improvement for plugin authors (#479).

End of maintenance 1.14 LTS ⚠️

As of December 31, 2025, Sylius 1.14 LTS entered the final stage of its support lifecycle. The final maintenance patch was released in January 2026. From now on, the version receives security fixes only. Security support continues until December 2026 in line with the Sylius support policy.

This marks a natural transition point for projects operating on version 1.14 or earlier. Regular maintenance updates are no longer available, so teams should start planning their upgrade path. For those considering next steps, our team offers technical audits that provide a structured assessment of your current implementation and identify the most suitable migration strategy.

If you’re running 1.14 or earlier, we’re more than happy to plan the next steps with you

Meet Dafré – the marketplace starter kit 🛠️

Here’s pretty big news. Over the last few weeks, we put much effort into Dafré – a production-ready marketplace starter kit that demonstrates what’s possible when building multi-vendor platforms on Sylius. Rather than starting from scratch, teams can explore, extend, and build on top of a foundation that’s already handling the complex parts.

Dafré comes with the Marketplace Suite, vendor management, RBAC, CMS integration, Elasticsearch, payment processing, invoicing, product bundles, wishlists, and more. It’s built to handle thousands of products, multiple vendors, deep category structures, reviews, and heavy traffic without performance degradation.

Our team made sure that the UX is clean and predictable for both customers and vendors. Vendors get a dedicated dashboard to manage their operations, while the frontend stays fast, responsive, and straightforward to customize.

Rather than describing what’s possible, just check it out for yourself!

Sylius 2025 summary 📽️

We wrapped up 2025 with a livestream recap covering what we shipped, how the product evolved, and where we’re heading in 2026. Przemysław Połeć and Piotr Szymański walked through the year’s highlights and answered community questions live.

Project victories

Now, let’s go through the Sylius-based projects. 🎊

Silvera consolidates B2B and B2C on Sylius 🪑

First of all, our Premium Solution Partner, WEEBY, helped Silvera, a premium French furniture brand, migrate from PrestaShop ( used for eCommerce) and WordPress (used for corporate content) to Sylius. Operating across B2B and B2C with multiple stores, warehouses, and customer-specific pricing rules, they needed a platform that could handle it all without constant workarounds.

The new Sylius implementation consolidates everything into one flexible system, including unified B2B/B2C management, multi-store and multi-warehouse architecture, advanced pricing logic tailored to customer relationships, and ERP synchronization aligned with real business processes. The result is a digital experience that reflects Silvera’s premium positioning while being scalable and ready to grow with the brand.

OFFICE Partner integrates BatteryIncluded AI with Sylius 🤖

OFFICE Partner GmbH chose Sylius for its flexibility and headless architecture, enabling them to work with BatteryIncluded to integrate their AI Data Discovery Framework. The collaboration resulted in an open-source SDK demonstrating best practices for leveraging AI-powered search capabilities.

Key features include similar search using big data analytics (helping users find relevant products without clicking through pages), a hybrid LLM search that intelligently combines traditional algorithms with Gemini for natural language queries, and a data lake architecture optimized for performance. The project evolved from a typical integration into a shared product vision, creating building blocks that scale for everyone involved.

The partnership goes beyond typical integration work: in March, both companies will showcase their collaboration at data:unplugged, Europe’s largest data and AI festival, with a 300m² booth. Fingers crossed! 🤞

SyliusCon presentations 🎬

More sessions from SyliusCon 2025 are now available on YouTube!

Magdalena Sadowska shared how the team made AI a practical part of daily work in “AI and Sylius: A Match Made in the Future”. However, this wasn’t about replacing people – it was about amplifying what teams can do with better tools.

Magda walked through concrete examples: how AI was introduced to support developers, how workflows became simpler and faster, and how better tools led to better decisions across the company. From integrating Model Context Protocol (MCP) and Codex to improving documentation accessibility, the session showed what happens when you approach AI as a tool for doing more with less – without burning out or cutting corners. For teams wondering how AI fits into real product work today, this talk delivered clarity and practical insight.

Johan Hornof (founder of 3BRS.com) and Dan Burnham (CEO of Listabl) drew from real-world experience supporting UK retailers to walk through what selling across multiple channels actually looks like

The session focused on where marketplace complexity really lives: product data structure, channel-specific requirements, seller onboarding, and workflows that go far beyond simple integrations. A major part of the discussion explained why unified data alone is rarely sufficient and why data transformation and quality become the primary scaling challenges. They also covered how Sylius fits into this ecosystem as a flexible foundation – either as a source of truth or as one of the connected sales channels, depending on the seller’s setup.
