Bongénie (formerly Bongénie Grieder) is a Swiss luxury fashion retailer offering a wide range of clothing, footwear, accessories, and interior design elements for women, men, and children. The company operates numerous brick-and-mortar stores in key locations such as Zurich, Geneva, Lausanne, and Basel. Simultaneously, it has developed a strong presence in online channels, including the main store (bongenie.ch), an outlet platform (outlet.bongenie.ch), and a loyalty program (bg-club.ch).
The Swiss retailer’s website operated on an outdated, monolithic platform severely constrained Bongénie’s growth potential. Accumulating technological debt slowed the implementation of new features and negatively affected the execution of the company’s complex digital strategy. Recognizing these limitations, Bongénie established a primary objective: to replatform its eCommerce ecosystem to deliver customers a modern digital shopping experience while ensuring smooth integration between online and offline channels.

As a premium brand, Bongénie wanted to create a higher quality user experience on a modern, efficient, and scalable platform.

Sylius was chosen for this project due to its flexibility, which perfectly matched the challenges of the fashion industry. Its lightweight architecture and open-source code enabled meeting Bongenie’s business requirements and freely extending functionalities in line with an ambitious roadmap. Additionally, Sylius provided seamless integration with external applications and was cost-effective both in terms of implementation and maintenance. Thanks to this, Bongenie could minimize the technical debt, avoiding dependence on closed solutions and facilitating future system development.
Our Premium Solution Partner – Synolia was responsible for the implementation. The right partner in the right place! Since 2019, Synolia has not only been implementing Sylius but also actively developing its ecosystem through contributions, creating plugins, and delivering advanced eCommerce projects for various industries.
