The main goal of the project was to open three new markets: the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany. This required the platform to support multiple languages, international product imports, and a customer journey adapted to a broader audience.
At the same time, the project had to build on the existing platform rather than replace it entirely. Synolia needed to work with the current codebase, connected tools, and internal processes while preparing the platform for further growth.
Another major challenge was Bocklip’s buying journey. With more than 20,000 SKUs, the catalog could not be presented in a simple flat structure. Customers needed to navigate step by step, starting with the type of project, then the furniture source, material, shape, and color.
Because these projects are often complex and high-value, the platform also had to balance customer autonomy with room for commercial support later in the process.

Bocklip chose Sylius for its flexibility and ability to support a custom purchasing journey. Instead of forcing the business into a standard eCommerce model, Sylius provided the technical base needed to build a guided experience around a large and complex catalog.
The project was supported by our Premium Solution Partner, Synolia, which helped Bocklip with technical audit, functional recommendations, internationalization, performance improvements, and the evolution of key business features.
One of the key improvements was the instant quote tool, which now retrieves project data directly from an IKEA project URL, making the process faster and easier for users.
Synolia’s role in the project
Synolia supported Bocklip across both strategic and implementation work, including:
Technical and functional consulting
A detailed audit of the Sylius platform
Recommendations for platform improvements and international rollout
opening three new countries and adding three new languages
Adapting product imports
Improving the instant quote tool based on IKEA project URL import
Optimizing the ERP connection with Sellsy
This approach allowed Bocklip to improve and extend the platform without rebuilding the site from scratch.

Integrations and key platform capabilities
The final setup combines custom commerce logic, internationalization, and connected business processes tailored to Bocklip’s model.
Sylius – eCommerce foundation
Sellsy – ERP integration
Multi-language setup – French, English, German, and Dutch
Guided catalog navigation – step-by-step product discovery across 20,000+ SKUs
Instant quote tool – project simulation based on IKEA planner URL
International expansion support – country-specific taxes and future currency readiness
One of the key advantages of Sylius in this project was its flexibility. Instead of building around the limitations, the platform could be shaped around the company’s guided catalog logic, custom quoting flow, and international expansion requirements.
The project delivered measurable improvements for both customers and internal teams. On the customer side, the instant quote experience became faster and easier to use. The product database loading time was reduced by 50%, which helped increase the number of instant quotes generated on the platform.
On the operational side, improvements to the ERP connection significantly simplified internal processes. Synchronization time with Sellsy was reduced by 10x, making product data management more efficient.
More broadly, the project confirmed that Sylius is a strong fit for Bocklip’s business model. Its flexibility allows the brand to keep developing custom features around its catalog, buying journey, and international growth.
